The Back 2 School Bash was established in 2005. It began as an idea of four Drake students who wanted to contribute to their new found community.  Our mission is to collaborate with communities/corporations and consolidate resources in order to inspire youth to continue in their educational endeavors and build upon their future careers.

 

During this one day event, over 1000 students will walk away with school supplies. It also features a talent show, basketball tournament, carnival, food vendors and information from various community organizations.

 

The Back 2 School Bash is filled with excitement. Below are a few of the activites:

 

School Supply Giveaway

Over 1000 students will receive school supplies. Bags are classified in 3 categories including grades K-5, 5-8, and 9-12.

 

Carnival

Inflatable games, field games, face painting, and music are amongst the activities in the carnival. Students will be rewarded play money for participating in the activities. The money can be used for cotton candy, snow cones, and/or prizes.

 

Basketball Shootout

There will be 3 basketball contests: crossover, dunk, and 3-point. Prizes will be awarded to the winner of each contest.  To register, click here.

 

Physical Examinations

Students will have the opportunity to get health screens and immunizations free of charge. 

 

Art of Expression
Students will have the opportunity to go through a painting workshop. They will walk away with an original piece. Space will be limited. Registration online will come soon.

Fun Pass
Corporations and organizations will have the opportunity have a booth providing information and services. Each student will receive a Fun Pass. When they visit a booth, their Fun Pass will be stamped. Once they visit each location, they will receive a meal ticket.
